Roberto Schezen was born in Milano, Italy in 1950.
He received extensive musical training in his youth, and holds a PhD in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano.
From 1973 to 1975 he worked as a war photographer with the Gamma Press Group, covering the Middle-East.
In 1975, he opened his own studio in Milan, working in still-life, portraits, and architecture for publicity and advertising.
In 1982 he moved to New York where he continued his portrait work for prominent magazines-most notably, Italian Vogue-but increasingly focusing his abilities on architectural photography.
During the last two decades he has won international renown as a preeminent photographer of architecture and interiors, with more than thirty books to his credit, published by prestige Houses here and abroad-most recently a volume on the work of the visionary post-War American architect, Louis Kahn.
The subtle erudition and rigourous Classicism of his approach in his Fine Art photography-exhibited in Milan and New York and included in major private and public collections-bear witness to his classical background in Music and Architecture.
Since 1996 Roberto Schezen has been working on a selection of themes here chronologically presented.
